Linz hotels charge the most
Hotels in Linz were identified as the most expensive among Austrias five largest cities.Hotel price comparison platform Trivago (www.trivago.co.uk/hotelprices) found today (Mon) that a standard double room in the Upper Austrian capital currently costs an average 138 Euros significantly more than what hotels in Innsbruck (116 Euros) and Graz (101 Euros) are charging.Hotels in Salzburg are charging an average 99 Euros for one night in a double room, three Euros more than hotels in federal capital Vienna.Trivago also announced that hotel rooms in Geneva, Switzerland, were the most expensive in Europe at 230 Euros per night, with Swedens Stockholm in second (164 Euros) and hotels in London, Great Britain in third at 163 Euros.The overall number of overnight stays in Austria increased by only 0.4 per cent to 124.82 million year on year in 2010, according to Statistik Austria. The state agency stressed that Vienna achieved an all-time record last year with 10.2 million overnight stays, 10.3 per cent more than in 2009.
