Paraglider in clinic after crash

A German paraglider was hospitalised after crashing against a rock face in Vorarlberg at the weekend.

Police in the town of Au said today (Mon) that the man suffered serious injuries in the accident which occurred on Saturday afternoon. The resident of Rettenberg in the German state of Bavaria was transferred to a local hospital via helicopter.

Only last week, a man from Gramastetten in Upper Austria died of cardiac arrest moments after landing safely with a paraglider.
