Blake Lively on speaking French and paparazzi

Hollywood star and Chanel poster girl Blake Lively has admitted being ashamed for not speaking any French.

The actress said today (Fri) she rented a house in southern France to learn the language. “I’m feeling embarrassed about not understanding a single French word but being a Chanel model at the same time,” she told Austrian showbiz news weekly Live.

Asked to reveal who inspired her personal style, the 23-year-old said: “I love to look at photographs of style icons of the old days – Grace Kelly, Audrey and Katherine Hepburn. They were so elegant. I love the androgenic aspects of Katherine Hepburn.”

The “Gossip Girl” star pointed out it mattered a lot to her “that my style reflects my inner self. It shouldn’t copy the latest trends.”

Speaking about her role in a new superhero movie, the US American TV and film star claimed: “Only my nephews will love my performance in ‘Green Lantern’.”

Lively argued she took on the role in the overly-comical film based on the adventures of a DC Comics character “because I’m 24 years old. You’ve got to try yourself in all genres at that age.”

Lively, who has been spotted dating “Titanic” star Leonardo DiCaprio recently, also launched a scathing attack on stalking photographers. She told Live: “I’d love to send all paparazzi to an island like Azkaban (prison) in the ‘Harry Potter’ novels. It would create peace and quiet for all of us.”
