Vienna Chamber Opera performs Albinoni composition

The Vienna Chamber Opera presented its premiere performance of Italian Tomaso Albinoni’s (1671-1751) composition “Il Nascimento dell’ Aurora” yesterday (Thurs) evening. The performance under the musical direction of Rene Clemencic played to a full house.Experts claim that the work, which features melodies beloved in the early 18th century, is really much more of a “pastoral festival” than an opera proper. The work in two acts will be presented again on 8, 11, 18, 20, 22, 25 and 27 May and on 1, 3, 5, 8, 10 and 12 June. For more information and tickets, see www.kammeroper.at
