Police take man’s 27 dogs

Police raided a house after an anonymous local reported its owner for keeping 27 dogs in poor conditions.Officials in Bruck an der Leitha, Lower Austria, said today (Weds) the animals were well-nourished, but added that the conditions they were kept in were rated as inappropriate by animal experts from a nearby dog shelter.Authorities are now looking for new owners for the canines.Earlier this month, police and animal activists found 43 adult dogs, six puppies and one dead canine at a 36-year-old woman’s property in Kienings near Krems.Officials – who were informed by worried neighbours – said the property was badly polluted with dog faeces, adding that it seemed the animals had not been given any fresh food or water for some time.
