Romania – Austria prostitution ringleaders face trial

Four people accused of having raked in more than 100,000 Euros by luring girls into modelling before forcing them to work as prostitutes in Austria have been sent to trial in Romania.Scheming Relu Costan, 36, Ion Tamarjan, 34, Radu Nicola, 28, and Alexandru Voicu, 22, are due to appear in court in Ialomita later this year, according to a report by the Romanian Times today (Thurs).The crooks are facing jail for people trafficking, according to anti-organised crime prosecutors DIICOT. Prosecutors said the suspects transferred their 80 victims including 17 minors to clubs across the country as well as to Austria and Italy to slave as prostitutes after promising them careers as models.The accused, who are in custody awaiting their trial after being arrested earlier this year, earned more than 100,000 Euros with their illicit operations, according to officials. Viennese night club manager Peter B. may face charges in Austria after being accused of having made a deal with one of the suspects, according to reports.
