Emergency Helicopter Shot At
An emergency helicopter operated by the OAMTC has been hit by a 9mm gun shot in Vienna, Austria.
A replacement machine had to be brought into operation after one of the rotors was shot through on the helicopter Christophorus 9.
Ralph Schüller, from the OAMTC said: “A 9mm shot went right through one of the emergency rescue helicopters the Christophorus 9 probably yesterday (Monday).
The pilot had not noticed anything out of the ordinary on the helicopter on Monday which is stationed in Aspern in the Donaustadt region of Vienna.
Police are now investigating. A replacement machine from Wiener Neustadt is currently in service covering for the damaged machine.
Back in March an emergency rescue helicopter with a baby was attacked by a laser pointer as it came into land at the Donauspital in Vienna.
