Shipping season starts at Lake Bodensee
This year’s shipping season on Lake Bodensee, Vorarlberg (Western Austria) will start this Friday. For this occasion, highlights of the upcoming season were presented. 500,000 passengers were transported last year.
The Vorarlberg Lines achieved an increase in turnover of 16.6 percent in the last season. The company plans to beat this result this year: Managing director Alexandro Rupp said that the ambitious goal is a turnover of 4.4 million Euros and 600,000 passengers.
The company presents two new kinds of journeys: one journey will take place during the sailing regatta “Rundum” and the other one will bring passengers to the island Mainau and to Meersburg.
The company also renovated their boats. Hans Wüstner, first captain, said that passengers would realise that there are new floors and furniture. Guests would also appreciate cleanliness on the boats, which is a trademark of Vorarlberg Lines.
The season will start this Friday with round trips in the bay of Bregenz and journeys to Lindau, Meersburg and Mainau.
