Fenninger triumphs in World Champs Super-Combined
Anna Fenninger won todays (Fri) Womens Super-Combined World Championship race in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.The 21-year-old skier from Salzburg, who debuted in the World Cup in 2006, claimed the gold medal ahead of Slovenian Tina Maze and Swede Anja Pärson.Elisabeth Görgl failed to win silver in the end, despite having led the field after the competitions downhill race. She was second-best Austrian in fifth in the final Super-Combined standing after falling behind in the slalom part of the event. The Styrian won gold in the Womens World Champs Super-G earlier this week.Austria now holds three medals after as many races since Hannes Reichelt bagged silver at the Mens Super-G two days ago.The next World Championship event will be the mens Downhill at 11am tomorrow. Austrian TV channel ORF 1 and sport broadcasting network Eurosport will show this and all upcoming World Champs races live.
