Thomas Morgenstern won Innsbruck ski jumping competition

By Richard WolfThomas Morgenstern has won the Bergisel-ski jumping challenge in Innsbruck today (Mon).It was the first time in his career that Morgenstern has won in Innsbruck.The 24-year-old Carinthian jumped 129.5 metres on the first and 126.5 metres on the second jump and is 9 metres in front of Adam Malysz from Poland. Norwegian Tom Hilde scored third.Now Morgenstern leads in the overall ranking with 27.3 points in front of Simon Ammann from Switzerland.It was Morgenstern’s sixth world cup victory in this season and his 20th overall.With Manuel Fettner coming in sixth, Andreas Kofler seventh and Wolfgang Loitzl ninth place, four ÖSV ski jumpers got top ten places.
