Minister unharmed after double plane tyre blow-out
Peoples Party (ÖVP) Foreign Minister Michael Spindelegger had a narrow escape as two tyres of a plane he was on burst during the start procedure.A spokesman for the ministry said today (Weds) neither Spindelegger nor any of his team were injured in the incident which occurred at the an airport in Czech capital Prague Airport yesterday.Experienced pilot Heinz Bleiweiss immediately abandoned the starting process after two tyres of the Dornier jet burst.”There was no danger at anytime,” he stressed.Spindelegger who continued travelling to Helsinki, Finland, with another plane said: “Thankfully nothing happened to any of us.”Polish president Lech Kaczynski was among the 96 passengers of a Tupolev plane which crashed near Smolensk, Russia, earlier this month.
