Earthquake hits Austria

Austria was shaken by an earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter Scale last night (Weds) at 19.17 PM.

The epicentre of the earthquake was Ebreichsdorf  in Lower Austria. A few days previously another earthquake hit there too.

The earthquake was also felt in the Austrian capital of Vienna.

According to the Austrian Earthquake Service at the Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamik (ZAMG) the earthquake measured 4.2 on the Richter Scale. Further tremors are expected over the coming days.

No damage was reported to the fire service but some worried citizens did report the earthquake.

On September 20th damage was caused in the area of Ebreichsdorf by a earthquake measuring 4.3 on the scale.
