Man killed in traffic accident

A tragic accident claimed the life of a 22-year-old Austrian this week.

The young man from Oberndorf, in Flachgau, was travelling in Bavaria when he pulled into the lane used by oncoming traffic to overtake a row of cars.

But he smashed into the side of another car driven by another Austrian driver, a 45-year-old from Braunau, who pulled out in front of him into the same lane.

The force of the collision sent the 22-year-old cars into a spin – where it crashed into the free pinning the young man in the wreckage.

He had to be cut free from the wreckage and was already dead by the time he was freed.

The man from upper Austria was treated for shock.
