An elderly motorist is recovering in hospital after ploughing into a row of parked cars.
The 80-year-old man crashed into the vehicles at a taxi rank in the city of Salzburg yesterday evening (Thurs) after an overtaking manoeuvre. He had to be hospitalised. Officials in the city said today that another person – a cab driver – also sustained injuries in the incident.
The driver was not drunk when the accident occurred, a blood check has shown. However, the pensioner may be ordered to stop driving due to the effects his old age could possibly have on his abilities.
