Porn movie major sues the army

A high-ranking army official fired for allegedly letting his girlfriend shoot a raunchy film in the attic of a barracks wants his job back. The sacked major’s lawyer said today (Weds) he had doubts whether the decision to dismiss his client was standing on a solid legal framework. He explained that the federal defence ministry – which is headed by Social Democrat (SPÖ) Norbert Darabos – may have breached dismissal periods when it issued the sacking earlier this month. The advocate also said that he had doubts whether the ministry was right to lay off the major, who had been in the Austrian army for 20 years before the pornographic film appeared on the internet, for passing on the key to the attic to the movie crew. The 45-year-old man was fired after an anti-terrorism unit trawling the internet for threats against Austria came across a website where a DVD of the film shot in the attic of the Stiftskaserne in Vienna-Neubau was on sale.
