Bulgarian killed in motorway crash

A Bulgarian died in a collision on Upper Austria’s A8 Innkreis motorway this morning (Thurs).Traffic police said the man was killed when the car he was travelling in crashed into an articulated truck near the Ried im Innkreis exit. Officials added that three passengers of the vehicle were hospitalised with undisclosed injuries. The lorry driver – whose nationality was not made public – got away unharmed.Authorities did not give any information regarding why the vehicles collided, whether the deceased man was steering the car and whether he lived in Austria. The highway had to be shut for around an hour after the crash. Substantial tailbacks were the consequence.Meanwhile, a 20-year-old woman was transferred to a clinic in Oberpullendorf after she had come off the road with her car near the Burgenland town of Lackenbach for unclear reasons. The vehicle was seriously damaged when it overturned before landing in a roadside ditch. No one else was involved or harmed in the incident.
