Boy in clinic after vodka binge

A young boy is in intensive care after swigging down a bottle of vodka.The 10-year-old was hospitalised after passersby found him lying in a roadside ditch in Gratwein near Graz, Styria. The kid reportedly emptied a 0.7-litre bottle of vodka on a playground within four hours before passing out yesterday evening (Thurs). Doctors at the LKH Clinic in Graz said today that the child’s life was out of danger.Research has shown that many young Austrians smoke and get drunk on a regular basis. The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) announced in February that one in three teens living in the country had been completely drunk at least twice in their lives, while 25 per cent of 15-year-old Austrians described themselves as regular smokers.
