Lost hikers salvaged in Vorarlberg

A group of hikers were rescued unharmed after getting lost in the Vorarlberg Alps yesterday evening (Thurs).The five Germans called mountain rescuers after getting lost near Zürs am Arlberg when it got dark around 6pm. The group, who started their walk around midday, were soon discovered and transported to the valley with a helicopter.The men were exhausted but uninjured, local officials said today.Just some weeks ago, five Hungarian tourists were saved from freezing to death on the Rax mountain range in Lower Austria.The group called local authorities after getting lost at dusk. They were found by rescuers around midnight as temperatures ranged around minus 15 degrees centigrade.The hikers were discharged from a clinic the next day after being treated for hypothermia.
