Axe-wielding husband arrested
A Viennese was put in custody for threatening his wife with an axe while drunk yesterday (Weds).The 58-year-old was arrested after the woman, 34, managed to flee their flat in Ottakring district to tell officers at the nearest police station what was going on.The attacker is in custody, and police have refused to give out any further information on the background.A somewhat similar incident occurred in Nonnenhöfen, Lower Austria, last month when a Turkish man was arrested after storming a garden party held by his ex-lover.The man, 45, entered the social gathering at the 33-year-old womans property wielding an axe. He threatened to kill several people before fleeing after one of them called the police. Policemen found him hiding in a nearby garage and took him into custody.
