Careless worker’s thumb chopped off by circular saw

A Viennese worker lost a thumb while working with a circular saw yesterday (Weds), it was announced.Officials in the capital said today the 38-year-old’s finger was chopped off by the machine at a construction site in the city centre.He was driven to a clinic, and it has not been announced whether surgeons managed to reattach the thumb.A 55-year-old Tyrolean is meanwhile recovering at Zams Hospital after his upper arm was squashed by a drum inside a wood-processing machine as he tried to loosen a log which got stuck on its conveyor belt at an Imst factory on Tuesday.
