Brit arrested for alleged human trafficking attempt

A Briton has been arrested for trying to smuggle six Afghans illegally into France.Police in Kufstein, Tyrol, said today (Mon) the British driver, 34, told them that the six passengers – of whom one was found in the boot – were friends of a friend and he agreed to give them a lift to Paris when they stopped the car during a random traffic check on Saturday night.A spokesman for the police in the province said: “Investigations and interviews are currently ongoing. The car came from Italy. The group planned to continue their journey towards Germany.”The spokesman said that all seven men were put in custody at the local police station, adding that the Afghans were not carrying any identification with them.
