Alter Bridge November gigs announced

Alter Bridge will give two concerts in Austria this November, according to a Britishrock.cc report from today (Thurs).The online music newspaper reports that the American rock band will perform at Vienna’s Gasometer on 22 November before playing the Posthof in Linz five days later.No Austrian summer festival appearances of the band – which is made up of three former members of Creed and former front man of The Mayfield Four, Myles Kennedy – have so far been revealed.Kennedy will however be the lead singer during the 2010 tour of former Guns’n’Roses guitarist Slash’s new band which includes a performance at the Nova Rock festival in Nickelsdorf, Burgenland, in June.Alter Bridge recently announced plans to release their third album this year. “One Day Remains”, their 2004 debut, received mixed reviews but managed to reach number five in the US Album charts.Hard rock legends Guns’n’Roses have meanwhile also set their sights on performing in Austria this year, it has been confirmed.A spokeswoman for Vienna’s Stadthalle concert hall said earlier this week that the band’s management had been in talks over a gig at the Austrian capital’s biggest indoor venue.It would be the first Guns’n’Roses concert in Vienna since 1993 and the band’s return to Austria after their headliner slot at the 2006 Nova Rock.
