Sepultura to rock Klagenfurt in August

Brazilian heavy metal legends Sepultura are set to rock Austria, it was announced today (Mon).The four-member band will perform at Klagenfurt’s Stereo club on 11 August, according to Britishrock.ccThe band became one of the biggest heavy metal acts in the world with their fifth album “Chaos A.D.” in 1993. Their 1996 album “Roots” is regarded as one of the most important records of the genre.The band – who put out their 11th record “A-Lex” last year – went through difficult times recently after founding member Igor Cavalera decided to leave due to “artistic incompatibility” in 2006. His decision came exactly ten years after the band’s former mastermind and front man Max Cavalera – drummer Igor’s brother – jumped ship.Max Cavalera went on to found ethno metal band Soulfly, while both Max and Igor have collaborated with various artists over the years.It was also announced today that New York-based hardcore band Madball are lined up to rock the Stereo Klagenfurt on 18 August, while American punkers Pennywise will perform at the Gasometer Vienna on 28 April.
