Austrian building boom
The Austrian building business is once again booming after the financial crisis fuelled by heavy investment in property as fears grow over financial markets.
In the western Austrian province of Salzburg business is booming the most. According to the latest statistics from Statistic Austria the volume of building contracts has increased by 80 per cent in the first half of 2012 in comparison to 2011.
In Vienna it increased by 38.3 per cent and in Vorarlberg by 33 per cent.
Carinthia is the only Austrian province which has seen a decrease in the number of building contracts with a decline of 10.9 per cent.
Austria wide the number of tunnel building projects have contributed considerably to the latest statistics. There has also been a considerable increase in housing building projects and renovations.
The levels of building orders in Austria have increased to a value of 8.7 billion Euros
Austria wide this is an increase of 22.5 per cent compared tot he first six months of 2011.
