Zumtobel shines as turnover jumps

Lighting systems producer Zumtobel AG has managed to improve its turnover by more than 10 per cent.The company, with its headquarters in the Vorarlberg city of Dornbirn, said today (Mon) it achieved a turnover of 908.9 million Euros in the first three quarters of its 2010/2011 business year. The firm emphasised this was a 10.2 per cent increase compared to the same period in the previous business year.Zumtobel added that its earnings before interest and taxes (Ebit) soared from 40.5 million to 66.7 million Euros.The company had 7,626 employees by the end of January – 4.1 per cent more than in April 2010.Thomas Spitzenpfeil left Zumtobel’s executive board to join German optical systems manufacturer Carl Zeiss last September.Zumtobel recently  opened a 750 square-metre promotion centre in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates to showcase its product portfolio and latest research developments.The firm is quoted on the Vienna Stock Exchange’s (WBAG) Prime Market. One share cost 22.20 Euros at midday today.
