Wolford finds things less tight as earnings soar

Vorarlberg textiles producer Wolford has managed to double its earnings year on year, it has emerged.Company officials said today (Fri) earnings before interest and taxes (Ebit) soared from 2.18 million Euros in the 2008/2009 business year to 4.5 million Euros in the past business year.They added that Wolford, which is headquartered in Bregenz, had now achieved a surplus of 2.56 million Euros after losses of 1.19 million Euros in the previous business year.Firm bosses also said that earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) increased by 30.2 per cent to 12.49 million Euros. Turnover however edged down by 2.2 per cent to 144.04 million Euros, they added. Officials cited a “cautious consumption climate” for the slight decline.
