EE business lets Teekanne turnover brew

Prospering business in Eastern Europe (EE) served up a record turnover for Austrian tea producer Teekanne in the past business year.Bernhard Zoller, who heads the Salzburg-based firm, said overall 2009/2010 turnover soared by 8.2 per cent to 96.4 million Euros.Zoller said Teekanne would continue to expand in EE after becoming market leader in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. He added its Polish subsidy had a good 2009/2010 business year too.Teekanne is also dominating the domestic market. Zoller said the firm had a market share of 61.6 per cent in the past business year, while its turnover abroad soared by 15 per cent to more than 50 million Euros.More than 90 per cent of the company’s teas are produced by 115 employees at its Salzburg factory.
