Pröll says Austria ‘in full support’ of UN and EU in Iran issue

People’s Party (ÖVP) Finance Minister Josef Pröll has stressed Austria was “in full support” of the United Nations’ (UN) and European Union’s (EU) strategy over possible sanctions against Iran as he arrived for a three-day visit in Israel yesterday (Weds).Pröll also said discussing strategies how to fight the effects of the economic crisis was the second most important subject as he met with Israeli President Shimon Peres and Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz.”We agreed to increase economic relationships. Green technologies and know-how from Austria will be key matters in the near future,” Pröll – who is also Austrian Vice Chancellor – announced.Pröll also took the opportunity to lay down a wreath at the grave of Theodor Herzl, regarded as the “father of modern political Zionism”, and at the Holocaust memorial of Yad Vashem.
