Twenty-three people in five-seater car
Almost two dozen people were travelling through Austria in a minivan registered for a maximum of five people.
The group – 23 Romanians on their way home from Ireland – were stopped by traffic police officers on the A1 western motorway in Lower Austria on Saturday, it was reported yesterday (Mon).
The driver, 29, may face charges for the offence. The group were ordered to continue their journey with the legal number of passengers and the remainder to choose an alternative mode of transport.
