Paraglider dies after hitting rocks

A 31-year-old paraglider died instantly after crashing against a rock face yesterday (Thurs).The man from Linz, Upper Austria, was paragliding in a mountainous area in the Styrian district of Liezen. He was already dead when a helicopter rescue team discovered him shortly after the incident around 3pm.Only last week, a 35-year-old Tyrolean paraglider was killed in a failed landing manoeuvre. The man plunged to the ground after his glider brushed against a tree as he tried to land at probably too high a speed at the Kreuzjoch Mountain near Fulpmes.
