Farmer losing apples causes massive jam

A main road in Vorarlberg had to be closed down for around an hour after a farmer lost a trailer full of apples last night (Mon).The 46-year-old from Rankweil kept on driving after failing to notice that the rear flap of his tractor’s trailer had opened due to a technical error on the L190 motorway near Hohenems.Around three cubic metres of cider harvest apples were scattered on the road over a distance of around 50 metres.It took firemen an hour to clear up the road before police opened it for regular traffic again. The incident caused a tailback of several kilometres.
