Farmer dies helping crashed parachutist

A 54-year-old man died while trying to help a crashed parachutist disentangle his parachute from a tree on Friday.Police in Lind, Carinthia, said today (Mon) that the parachutist had managed safely to cut himself free after landing in the treetops in a forest and gone to a nearby farm to get a ladder so he could climb up and remove his parachute.The helpful farmer who had given him the ladder died instantly when he fell around ten metres after a branch he had been standing on broke off as he was trying to help the parachutist.
