Kapsch TrafficCom Sweden bags Bangkok order

Kapsch TrafficCom Sweden, a 100-per-cent subsidiary of Austrian IT firm Kapsch TrafficCom AG, has won a big assignment in Bangkok.Company officials announced today (Tues) that they will equip the Thai capital’s Bang Na–Bangpakong expressway with a road toll system.The order was worth seven million Euros, they said, adding that they will set the system up in a joint venture with two domestic companies.Kapsch TrafficCom AG is listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange (WBAG). The firm and its subsidies specialise in creating tolling systems and IT data networks.The firm, which has its headquarters in Vienna, introduced Andre Laux as its third board member on 1 April.Laux joined CEO Georg Kapsch and COO Erwin Toplak on the company’s directors board. He was CEO of Kapsch TrafficCom Sweden from February 2008 and responsible for the firm’s holding company in South Africa.
