German skier dies after slamming into tree

A 70-year-old German skier died yesterday (Weds) after skiing off piste and hitting a tree at the Bergeralm ski area in Tyrol’s Innsbruck-Land district, police said.The accident occurred at around 2pm. Rescuers were unable to help the man, who died on the spot owing to severe head and chest injuries.
