Gourmet escapes in Kitzbühel
The ski resort of Kitzbühel in Tyrol, Austria is hoping to provide visitors with both a luxurious snowy and foodie experience this winter season with their snow pass packages.
The legendary resort is known not only for its 170 kilometres of ski slopes but also for its high class gastronomy. The 60 runs are accompanied by six five star hotels, making it the perfect luxury winter escape. For 100 years now, Kitzbühel has attracted some of the world’s best skiers as well as international jet-setters in search of the ultimate Après-Ski.
The nine gourmet locations and 13 Gault Millau restaurants around the resort, provide the ultimate end to a day’s skiing. Such renowned chefs as Bobby Bräuer from the Grand Tirolia Golf & Ski Resort, who received the title of cook of the year 2012 from Gault Millau restaurant guide Austria, feature in Kitzbühel. Both Bräuer and Thomas Dreher who cooks at Restaurant Ritterstern in the resort have three toques (chefs hats) to their name from Gault Millau which indicate some of the highest quality in food in Austria.
Overnight packages for one of the luxury hotels of Kitzbühel are also set to become more attractive in March of this year. From 11 March until the end of the season five, four and three star hotels in the region will be offering “Schnee(s)pass-Packages” (ski-pass packages) at reduced prices.
