Eto’o scores for mum

Samuel Eto’o has revealed why he celebrates almost all of his goals comparably reluctantly. The Cameroonian national team star told the Salzburger Nachrichten newspaper: “I always think of my mum after I’ve scored. She had to work hard to feed her family. I’m fighting as she did. You have to invest a lot if you want to stop me.”The Inter striker dismissed claims that his club had an underwhelming season.”I don’t consider it as disappointing. We won three titles last season. The Coppa Italia, the Italian Supercup and the FIFA Club World Cup. I don’t think that six titles in two years is that bad,” the 30-year-old former FC Barcelona player said.Eto’o also paid full credit to his former team. “Barca were and are the best team in the world – and they won’t be stopped for some time. I do believe Barcelona can get even stronger,” he said speaking to the Salzburger Nachrichten newspaper.Eto’o stressed he was convinced that African teams will soon succeed in international events. Asked why the continent’s national teams failed to get far in the most recent World Cups, he said: “The organisation in the game has been the problem, but this is about to change. Football is more than just a game in Africa.”
