Beichler linked with Berlin move

Sturm Graz star Daniel Beichler has met Hertha BSC for talks over a transfer, it has emerged.Austrian sports newspapers report today (Tues) that the national team striker flew to the German capital yesterday to meet with managers of the club which was relegated from the German Bundesliga last season.Beichler, 21, was the best goal scorer with 11 strikes in the 2009/2010 season, but performed poorly during the final weeks of the season.Rumours that Beichler may join the side managed by former Bayern Munich defender Markus Babbel come just days after Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg transferred 1.3 million Euros to league rivals Sturm to secure the services of midfielder Jakob Jantscher.Mario Konrad may meanwhile leave Rapid Vienna after just one season in a reaction to the club’s signing of SV Ried ace Atdhe Nuhiu. Konrad, who was given little match time by Rapid manager Peter Pacult, is targeted by Budapest side Ferencvárosi Torna Club. The 27-year-old may not be the only striker who leaves Rapid – who came third last season – this summer. Croatian national team star Nikica Jelavic is linked with several top clubs such as Portuguese giants Benfica, while Albanian ace Hamdi Salihi may join AS Monaco.
