Baby wallaby shows itself

A baby kangaroo emerged from its mum’s pouch for the first time since being born almost five months ago in a zoo in Austria.Carers at Schönbrunn Zoo said today (Tues) that it may take another month before the Parma wallaby, whose sex has not yet been identified, will hop around the enclosure.They explained male Parma wallabies become just 40 to 50 centimetres tall and weigh up to six kilograms.The breed was thought to be extinct in its native Australia before some Parma wallabies were discovered in New Zealand in the 1960s. Nowadays they also live in more than 200 zoos worldwide, according to experts at Schönbrunn Zoo.
