Pensioner and dog dragged down road by car

A pensioner and his dog were dragged down the road by a car after the lead got caught in the bumper of a car at Marchtrenk in Upper Austria.

The 78-year-old had been walking his dog when it suddenly ran and attacked the tyre of a car that had stopped at a red light beside the OAP.

When the driver drove off the lead snagged in the bumper, and because it was wrapped around the OAP’s wrist he was dragged along together with the shocked dog.

The driver, a 39-year-old woman, stopped after another pedestrian ran in the road and warned her that she had the man behind her.

A police spokesman said: “Thanks to the icy roads and the thick winter clothing neither the OAP or the dog were badly hurt – although they were shocked.”
