Woman threatens patients with a knife

 A woman went on a rampage through a hospital in Linz, Austria, yesterday (Tues) with a 15 centimetre knife. Police were immediately called to the scene and prevented any bloodshed.

At around 12.15pm police were notified of the woman’s attack. “The woman suddenly jumped out, revealed a knife threatened everyone in the waiting room with it,” a witness told Heute.

Several police squads were called to the scene including the mobile special response (MEK) unit who managed to restrain the 33-year-old.

“Before the crazy person could stab anyone, they ripped the knife from her hand and took her away,” said the chief of security at the public health centre.

According to police the woman has not yet been identified but is believed to have escaped from the psychiatric ward. She is to be charged with dangerous criminal threat.
