Hand grenade found in Tyrol

Innsbruck police evacuated a park after a man discovered a hand grenade.The object was found near a waterfall yesterday morning (Sun). Strong rainfalls may have unearthed the grenade, police said today (Mon). It was defused and removed by experts of the federal interior ministry.The ministry’s teams have offices across the country to be on site on such occasions in little time. More than 500 hand grenades from World War One (WWI) or World War Two (WWII) were discovered in Austria in 2010. The authorities did not give precise information on the grenade found in the Tyrolean city yesterday.Earlier this month, a 36-year-old woman found a hand grenade at a park in Vienna while taking her dog for a walk.
