Elderly man dies after night-time outing
A dementia sufferer has died shortly after he was found lying on an agricultural field near Haslach wearing nothing but pyjamas, a vest and slippers.The 92-year-old Upper Austrian man was reported as missing by retirement home staff at 1am on Thursday morning. He was rushed to a clinic in Rohrbach after a police tracking dog discovered him on a field around seven hours later. The man died soon after arriving at the hospital.Only last week, a 88-year-old woman died days after she was discovered in an ice-cold stream bed. The pensioners body temperature had dropped to 24 degrees centigrade when she was found lying in a creek in Langenlois, Lower Austria, by a hiker. Officials said she may have been unable to get out of the water after falling into it during a walk.
