Shoplifter too drunk for police interview

Police had to wait more than 24 hours to question a boozed-up thief.The 31-year-old man was caught by police half an hour after he stole a bottle of vodka from a shop in Vienna’s western railway station (Westbahnhof) yesterday morning (Weds).The Vienna resident was, however, too drunk to face an enquiry on the same day, police in the capital said today.The man, who threw up at the supermarket after insulting staff, was put into custody. He was interviewed by officers about yesterday’s occurrences at midday today.
