Hay bale hospitalises farmer in Upper Austria

An elderly farmer was hospitalised after a hay bale smashed him against his tractor.The man, 64, suffered serious chest injuries as the 300-kilo bale suddenly rolled down from a stack knocking him against the vehicle in Pöndorf yesterday (Thurs).Police in the Upper Austrian district of Vöcklabruck said today the farmer was recovering at Salzburg’s emergency clinic where he had been helicoptered.
