Pensioner steers car into shop front in bid to park it

An elderly Carinthian driver crashed into a shop entrance in Althofen today (Fri).Police in the province said the man, 86, steered his car into the store in an attempt to park the vehicle.Another elderly man – a 71-year-old Althofen resident – was squashed between a metal pole and the car after failing to get clear as the man rammed his vehicle into the shop front.Both pensioners were hospitalised at a nearby clinic, and police are expected to take the driver’s licence.
