Andritz Hydro receives orders around the world

Andritz Hydro, an affiliated firm of leading plant construction company Andritz AG, has received a string of assignments worth an overall 80 million Euros.The firm said today (Thurs) that it was contracted to deliver electromechanical equipment for new hydropower facilities in Sweden and India. Andritz Hydro added that it was asked to modernise existing plants in the United States of America and Costa Rica. The overall value of the orders is 80 million Euros, the Graz-based company added.Andritz Hydro said only last week that it is part of a consortium which received a 40-million-Euro order by Portuguese energy supplier Electricidade de Portugal (EDP). The Austrian company will cooperate with a domestic firm over providing EDP with equipment for two hydropower plants near the city of Porto.Andritz AG is quoted on the Vienna Stock Exchange (WBAG). Its executive board chief Wolfgang Leitner was named Businessman of the Year by Austrian magazine Trend in 2006.
