Mössner goes to Germany
Former SV Mattersburg star Lukas Mössner has joined Eintracht Trier.
The 26-year-old striker announced today (Fri) he agreed with bosses at the German third league side on a one-year contract.
Mössner played for Mattersburg and Austria Vienna’s amateur team among other clubs before joining SKN St. Pölten last year. Trier snapped up the striker without paying a transfer fee since his contract at the Austrian second league side expired after the end of the 2009/2010 season.
Trier manager Roland Seitz said he was looking forward to work with the towering striker especially since he was good with headers.
Austrian Bundesliga champions Red Bull Salzburg sold Admir Vladavic to Slovak title-holders MSK Zilina. The Bosnian national team midfielder, 28, joined Bulls from this club last year.
Austrian national team defender Aleksandar Dragovic stayed at Austria Vienna. Rumour has it several German, Italian and Dutch top-flight clubs had been interested in signing the 19-year-old before the summer transfer window shut on 31 August.
Goalkeeper Wolfgang Hesl joined SV Ried on loan from German Bundesliga giants Hamburger SV to replace injured fellow German Thomas Gebauer.
English Premier League club West Bromwich Albion (WBA) signed Cameroonian midfielder Somen Tchoyi (Red Bull Salzburg) and free agent Paul Scharner, formerly with Wigan Athletic.
The Austrian Bundesliga will continue with four matches on 11 September and the Vienna derby between Rapid Vienna and Austria Vienna the next day.
The Austrian national team face Kazakhstan in their first Euro2012 qualifier in Salzburg on Tuesday (7 September).
