Dad of vanished Brit criticises Austrian police
A British man has hit out at police over their decision-making in investigating his sons disappearance in the Austrian-German border region half a year ago.Christopher Miles, who lived in Zell am See in the Austrian province of Salzburg, was last seen in Ruhpolding, Bavaria, on 31 July 2010.The 29-year-olds dad Nick Palmer-Miles, from Langar in Nottinghamshire, Great Britain, spent several weeks in continental Europe to look for his son and speak to police. He also set up a Facebook account appealing to friends of 180-centimetre-tall, brown-haired “CJ” and young people in Austria and Germany who knew him to get in touch.Now Palmer-Miles has harshly criticised authorities in Austria and Germany.”It’s such a frustrating situation at the moment because there’s loads of questions to be answered,” he told the Inverurie Herald newspaper today (Weds).Palmer-Miles added: “The police have said they have done everything. But CJ has got 50 to 60 friends over there who he has lived with for about five years and the police did not interview any one of those people.”
