Joe Satriani to rock Vienna

American rock guitarist Joe Satriani is to perform in Vienna later this year.The 53-year-old is lined up to rock the stage at the Gasometer on 9 November, according to a report by music newspaper Britishrock.cc.Satriani has released 12 studio albums since 1986. With 15 nominations to date, he is also known for having been nominated for a Grammy more often than any other artist without winning.His most recent release “Professor Satchafunkilus and the Musterion of Rock” came out two years ago, and a new album is expected this year.Steve Vai and Metallica axeman Kirk Hammett are two of his former students who rose to fame.Other shows set to take place at the Gasometer concert hall are the performances of Gogol Bordello (27 May), Cypress Hill (1 June) and UB40 (9 June).
