17-year-old confesses to 17,000 Euro fraud
A 17-year-old boy has been caught after selling 17,000 Euros worth of electrical equipment that he acquired after forging contracts and identification in Salzburg.
For more than a month beginning in April of this year, the boy completed contracts with different mobile network operators in Salzburg under a false name. Through these contracts he received six free mobile phones and three laptops from businesses around Salzburg which he then sold on for almost 17,000 Euros.
When the networks could not collect any fees from the young criminal they reported the problem to police. During initial investigations the boy denied all charges but after months of questioning has finally confessed to the serious fraud.
